Gold filled is composed of a solid layer of gold that is bonded to a base of either sterling silver, brass or copper. Unlike gold plated, it is actually filled with & has a content of 5% Pure gold. Because it has a layer of gold, it will NOT turn like gold plated & WILL last for 15 years to a lifetime if properly cared for. Like Gold, gold filled is not to prone tarnish.
Gold filled has the look & wear as gold at a fraction of the price.
Brass & copper are semi precious metals. They will last for a lifetime. They never turn, but they will tarnish. When tarnished, they can be cleaned using tarnish cleaning agents such as "brasso" "twinkle" & many more. There are also many common household items such as lemons & toothpaste that can be used to clean your semi precious metals as well.
